Before and After School Programs

At Armijo, learning and growing continues beyond the regular school day! Our before- and after-school opportunities give students additional ways to explore their interests, build leadership skills, develop talents, and connect with their school community.

Before-School Opportunities

Students can start their day with activities that promote teamwork, creativity, physical activity, and leadership.

  • Chess Club: Students develop strategic thinking, problem-solving, concentration, and sportsmanship while learning and playing chess.
  • Girls on the Run: A positive youth development program that combines running with lessons that help girls build confidence, develop healthy habits, strengthen relationships, and set goals.
  • Boxing: Students develop fitness, coordination, discipline, perseverance, and confidence through age-appropriate boxing activities.
  • Soccer: Students build teamwork, coordination, communication, sportsmanship, and physical fitness while developing their soccer skills.

Genius Hour Activities

Our Principal Advisory Council (PAC) provides students with opportunities to share their voices, ideas, and interests. PAC student leadership helps support and inspire Genius Hour activities, giving students opportunities to explore questions, investigate topics they care about, create, problem-solve, and learn through their own interests.

Student voice + curiosity + creativity = Genius Hour!

After-School Opportunities

  • Girl Scouts: Students have opportunities to participate in Girl Scouts while developing leadership, confidence, teamwork, service, and life skills through hands-on experiences and activities.
  • Boy Scouts / Cub Scouts: Cub Scouts gives students opportunities to learn new skills, explore interests, build character, serve their community, and develop leadership skills through fun, hands-on activities and experiences.
  • Baile Folklórico: Students explore Mexican culture and traditions through traditional folkloric dance, music, movement, and cultural expression. Students develop confidence, coordination, discipline, teamwork, and pride in cultural traditions.
