We are working with the county traffic engineering department and local authorities to make our student pick-up and drop-off area safer for our students.  Until our new signs are prepared and mounted, please help improve safety by exiting only to the right as you leave the parking and pick-up area.  Do not turn left when you leave the pick-up area.  Please park only in designated areas, and use the existing crosswalks to cross.  Parking on Yakima Rd. will allow families to have a crossing guard and crosswalks for the getting across Sunset Rd, which Gatewood does not have. We have had some very dangerous situations develop due to persons failing to obey posted signs and follow traffic rules.  Let’s keep our pedestrians safe!

Prompt and regular school attendance is essential for a student to attain success in school. Attendance must be recorded daily in classroom records and no later than 8:00 AM using Synergy. It is the teacher’s responsibility to maintain accurate attendance records for the purposes of recording attendance on Progress Reports and in Cumulative Folders.

If families drop off a student after 10:00AM it must be counted as a half-day absence. If a student is dropped off after 11:30AM, it must be counted as a full-day absence. If a family picks-up a student prior to 1:30PM, it must be counted as a half-day absence. These absences will be marked as unexcused unless the family provides us with a doctor’s note when dropping off, or the next day if picked-up early. Vacations, weddings, or similar events will be counted as unexcused absences. If a student provides you with a note or other written excuse for an absence, please give to the office so the absence may be entered into Synergy accurately.
Please do not pick up your child from the classroom, they will be called to the office by Administrative staff.
